"Der Spiegel": A large number of Islamists applied for asylum in Germany




The German magazine Der Spiegel reported on Saturday that 25 percent of Islamists classified as dangerous by the German authorities had applied for asylum in Germany.

According to the German government's response to a request for a briefing from the Liberal Democratic Party's parliamentary bloc, the Federal Criminal Police Office classifies some 1,560 men and women as "dangerous" or "related persons" to extremist circles.

According to the data, 362 of them applied for asylum in Germany.

The government explained that this high number is due to migratory movements in the context of the war in Syria and Iraq, and responded that the federal government and the states are currently trying to carry out the security risk as soon as possible.

In the view of the Democratic politician of the "Free Democratic Party" that the countries to use the means consistently: "The number of perpetrators of crimes in Germany should not increase, while the number of deportations is still small."

Since the December 2006 capital attack in Berlin, interior ministers have issued orders for immediate deportation in 13 cases, 10 of which have so far been forced to leave the country.
